DaySchedule product update - March 2022

Introducing external user role, improved rescheduling and cancellation feature in our appointment scheduling software on this March 2022 release of DaySchedule.

External user role

The external user feature is now live on day schedule app to mark a user as external on users management page to give limited access to their own events, appointments and bookings only under the role you have selected for them.

The external user won’t be able to see all organization bookings or events to control the visibility and who can see what information based on the role and is_external API.

For example, if there are 2 external users (Tom and Nick) in an organization under the company name (Acme Inc)

  • Tom can see his appointments only under the booking admin page
  • And Nick can see his appointments only under the booking admin page

So, both have limited access to see their own data only.

Cancel appointment

The cancel appointment feature has been improved to handle all the scenarios suggested via customer feedback. For example, cancel reason, email notification with details of who canceled the meeting etc.

Reschedule appointment

The reschedule appointment feature has been improved to clear the calendar when an appointment is rescheduled for some other time

So, the calendar will be updated to delete the old event and new event date timing will be added to quickly see the upcoming appointments on your google calendar.

Round-robin events

The round-robin events now show the total available spots based on the active user selected in an event.

For example, if you have selected 4 users in a round-robin event. But 2 of them are just invited and yet to join DaySchedule to set up their account.

So, you’ll see 2 spots available only as the non-active user won’t be assigned any meetings in round-robin until their account is activated.

Zero double booking guarantee

We’ve re-architected our booking engine to give zero double booking guarantee to all DaySchedule customers.

The duplicate bookings was usually caused by users accidentally double-clicked on the confirm reservation button for the exact same date and time or multiple customer booking for the same spot and one of them win due to the race condition.

The new appointment scheduling engine guarantees that even for thousands of customers booking at the same time won’t be able to double-book a slot for a given date.

We’ve optimized the scheduling app for best performance of your appointment registration website and calendar to improve the user experience.

The scheduling pages have been tested with Google speed test, Gtmetrix, Lighthouse etc. to improve the performance based on speed test insights for mobile and desktop.
